The stock dropped more than 7% after hours. Those two prints describe the same handset market from opposite ends of the value chain, and only one of them is shrinking.

Assessment: Hong Kong Listings Reverse the Capital Market Decoupling of China's AI Stack
Two disclosures in the same session establish where the Chinese AI and semiconductor stack is being priced. Moonshot AI closed $3.5 billion at a $35 billion valuation against an initial target of $1 billion to $2 billion, with a Hong Kong listing possible this year. CXMT’s IPO prospectus revealed that Alibaba holds nearly 5%, worth more than $20 billion, against a closing market capitalization of approximately $464 billion on 28 July.

Eliyan's $1B Valuation and GlobalFoundries' $300M Photonics Award Price the Interconnect Bottleneck
Three financings in one session, all pointed at the same physical problem. Eliyan raised a $145 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation to license technology and build physical chiplets that ease data transfer bottlenecks between AI dies. GlobalFoundries is set to receive $300 million in CHIPS Act funding to advance silicon photonics research aimed at more efficient AI data centers. ChipAgents raised a $60 million Series A2 led by B Capital, taking an expanded round to $134 million, to apply agents to chip design itself.

Intel Gave Atom Processor Technology to Rosaic, a Startup Led by a Longtime Lip-Bu Tan Co-Investor
Intel has given a new startup called Rosaic access to its Atom processor technology, according to sources and documents. Rosaic is led by Amarjit Gill, who has co-invested alongside Intel chief executive Lip-Bu Tan for years.
The technology decision is defensible on its own terms. Atom is Intel’s low-power x86 line, a product family that has been repeatedly repositioned, repeatedly deprioritized, and never quite retired. It has real value in embedded, industrial, and edge applications where x86 compatibility matters and power budgets are tight, and it has never been the platform Intel’s own resources are pointed at.

One model developer and one DRAM manufacturer, heading for the same venue, at valuations set almost entirely by domestic capital.

Samsung's 1,814% Profit Jump, Kioxia's 30x, and a Memory Sector That Sold Off Anyway
Samsung reported second-quarter revenue of roughly $118.1 billion, up 130% year over year and a shade under the $118.9 billion consensus, alongside operating profit of about $61.46 billion, up 1,814% against a $60.68 billion estimate. Revenue missed. Profit did not. The distance between those two facts is the entire memory cycle compressed into a single print: sales slightly more than doubled while operating income went up eighteen-fold, which is only arithmetically possible when the incremental bit sells at a price the cost base was never built to justify.

Inverse DRAM ETF Launch, Stalled AI Code Security, and the Data Center Staffing Squeeze
Roughly 180 items crossed the wire in the last twenty-four hours. Strip out the translated duplicates, the earnings-date notifications, the investor-conference attendance notices, and the vendor testimonial campaigns, and perhaps a dozen carry actual information. Those dozen cluster around three themes: the memory cycle acquiring a short side, the physical limits of data center expansion, and the widening distance between how capable AI systems have become and how safe their output is.

SanDisk's June 22 Share Swap Is a Non-Event for SNDK
The honest read is that the swap is close to a non-event for SNDK’s price trajectory. Western Digital is exchanging the roughly 1.04 million SanDisk shares it still holds for its own stock with a handful of institutions, with the final count set by the volume-weighted average prices of both names over June 16 to June 18 and the transaction closing June 22. The market has been told to mark the date.
